Cynthia Parkes. LMHC, Pediatric Counselor Joins the Center for Behavioral Medicine

Hi, I'm Cynthia Parkes, and I love what I do! I love to make a difference and I love to see both the quick, short-term changes and the long-term permanent changes that counseling provides.

What could be more rewarding!

I've been a professional counselor for 25 years and I have my Master's degree from Indiana University. I've worked with children and parents not only in the outpatient counseling setting, but in hospitals, churches, camps, schools, and child care facilities.

A large part of my success can be traced to the fact that I use the latest therapy techniques and I care deeply about each person I see. Your child's success in dealing with his or her challenges is always on my mind. I thrive on helping children and parents grow to use their knowledge, abilities, and talents to fulfill their purposes in life.
Discover, Overcome, Grow!

Your challenge may be very specific or it may be more general in nature.

Some of the areas I specialize in working with are:
Adoption Issues:
Adoptive Parents
Birth/Natural Family
Anger Issues
Christian Counseling
Divorce Grief / Recovery
Dysfunctional Relationship
History of Abuse or Neglect
Self Esteem Issues

I especially enjoy working with grief, chronic/acute illness, trauma, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, and parenting.

Like the quote from Plato "You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation."
